Long time, No see! Update.

Hello! It has been a long time since I've posted last. There has been lots going on. Here is some of what you've missed! 1. WE MOVED! Yay :) My children and I LOVE it here! I didn't HATE living with my Mother in Law but once you get to a certain age and  you have a family; living with other people just doesn't cut it. 2. We couldn't get cable/internet hooked up here for a period of almost 6 weeks! Ugh. The company punished us for the prior tenants owing a past due and taking their equipment. So we had to pay a non-refundable security fee. Needless to say, we are up and running! And it's a darn good thing because we were all going stir crazy re-watching the same movies... over and OVER! lol. 3. My oldest daughter, Myah, has started Kindergarten!! She loves school. She is my quiet, do no harm kid. And then there is Kaydence :) She is my little sour patch kid. First she's sour... THEN she's sweet. If you were to meet her, you would know how spot on that is. She's my little tornado and has no fear. I am so blessed to have such different, wonderful and loving girls. My day is never boring! 4. We now have three  new members to our family. Our little black cat: Oscar, and two black and white Boston Terrier puppies, Axl and Rose. Axl is our male and Rose is our female. Oscar is too cute and very smart. He is mostly an outside cat but every time I call his name; he comes a running. He loves to run and play with the dogs. He is one of them. 5. I still love to cook but I am getting very tired of the every day menu! Meat, Potatoes and vegetable/fruit. Meat, Noodles, vegetable/fruit. Meat, Rice, and vegetable/fruit. Ugh. I will post recipes again when they are meals that actually stand out! I will still post my dinner updates and probably post a picture too. But please bare with me for a while. As it is hard to have an awesome meal every day on a pay check to pay check budget. Also PLEASE feel free to share YOUR recipes here with me. I would LOVE to try new things and also get a little inspiration.
I hope to see more followers soon. My goal is to make at least ONE post a day, maybe even a couple. If you like what you see; feel free to share my page and get your friends to join in on the blog trend :)

Crock Pot Chicken Tortilla Soup!

You have got to try this recipe. I threw it together on a sunday night, using only the things I had in the pantry.

4 chicken breasts(frozen)
2 cans chicken broth
1 can cream of chicken
1 small diced onion
diced-half green pepper
diced jalapeno slices(jarred)
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can corn
few shakes of cumin
Throw all ingredients in the crock pot. You can dice or shred the chicken. You may want to add the corn till about 30-45 minutes before the soup is ready, so that it's not too soft. If it looks too liquidy for you; add 1 pack of chicken gravy(I did). Takes about 5hours of cook time on high setting, with frozen chicken. I prepared my bowl by spooning a dollop of sour cream in the bowl, covering with soup and topped with cheese and crunched tortilla chips. Enjoy! :)

Welcome to my blog!

First blog, first post! I am hoping to blog about my love of cooking and my life with my children.  I'm not quite sure what it will involve at this point, but I know I will be sharing recipes, creative ways to spend time with children, and the rest I will make up along the way.  If you have any tips or suggestions, I would appreciate your comments.  Conversations about parenting and cooking will be welcome here so please share.
